About Dr. Freund

HI, I’m Rachel Freund, a licensed psychologist who launched into private practice after working for over a decade in large healthcare organizations. I have been providing clinical services since 2005, and earned my PhD in 2010 from the APA-accredited clinical psychology program at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. I have worked with adults in a range of clinical settings and I have extensive and specialized training in therapies that target post-traumatic stress, sleep problems, anxiety disorders, and substance use problems. I’m a member of the Washington State Psychological Association and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. In addition to serving adults in WA State, I have authority to practice telepsychology in PSYPACT states.

MY interest in human behavior is interwoven with my fascination in and inspiration from the natural world. I am naturally curious and drawn to the stories and lives of others—complex, rich, interesting, relatable, connected. I believe we each have experiences that deserve to be voiced, acknowledged, and appreciated. I dedicate myself to client care and bring compassion, curiosity, and present-centeredness into therapeutic interactions. I tend to be gentle and supportive, yet direct and goal-oriented, and I find that a sense of humor and gratitude are worth a lot in working through life’s difficulties. My passion for making the world a better place for everyone shows up in my work to help clients suffer less and fully live their best lives.

OUTSIDE of work, my interests include practicing yoga, reading, being outdoors, traveling, dancing, baking, and spending time with friends and family. Throughout my life, I have been heavily influenced by community service, social justice movements, and mindfulness practice.
